The “Calamity Song” Video Premiere

Earlier today we premiered the new “Calamity Song” video, directed by the seriously talented Michael Schur. The video, which was shot over a rainy weekend in our hometown of Portland, portrays a game of Eschaton (basically, a global thermonuclear crisis recreated on a tennis court, invented by David Foster Wallace in his book Infinite Jest). It’s available to watch on both NPR.org and NYTimes.com.  In addition to posting the video, The New York Times also published a feature about the video, including interviews with Colin and Michael here.

You can purchase the video through iTunes here.

As you know, the Popes of Pendarvia World Tour comes to a close this week, with four final stops in the Pacific Northwest.  Just a reminder that the first of the two Portland shows at Edgefield (August 25) is now SOLD OUT.  Tickets are still available for all other shows, including tonight’s show at Marymoor Amphitheatre near Seattle.  These will be the last U.S. dates for quite some time. Visit our tour page for details.
